Those fucking bastards

Every time I think the Democrats can’t go lower, can’t get slimier, can’t show their contempt for America and it’s laws more thoroughly, these morherfuckers come up with some new way to win elections other than by giving people a reason to like and trust them.

Mail in ballots, obviously, do not require voter ID. All any person willing to commit fraud to help these lunatics continue their path of destruction need do is identify likely nonvoters who are registered., then vote as them. They can request ballots be sent many places, and then mail them in. One organized person could vote hundreds or even thousands of times.

I was wondering why these rat bastards were so focused on early voting this year: now we know.

Let’s all pray the line of sanity and law holds.

And we need to fundamentally rework our election system. No mail in ballots from people who are in the country and not bedridden. If you cannot verify you are who you say you are, then no vote. This is fair, and I suspect a strong majority of Americans understand this.

Dropping the data

I continue to think Trump should ask the people who WORK FOR HIM to do what he asked, which is declassify what Mueller has dug up.  He’s been at this shit for two years, for God’s sake.  Let’s air all the dirty laundry.  Let’s see what’s there.

If the Dem’s want to claim there is something Trump is hiding, surely to God a man given nearly unlimited power–power certainly not seen as limited by the 4th Amendment, common sense, or personal integrity by Mueller–for two years has found it.  Let’s see it.  Let it all hang out there.

We need to go through this.  We need all these lies the Left is telling to be SHOWN as lies.  And obviously people stupid enough to believe this pabulum will swill whatever concoction the Dems dream up next, but not all.  Not all.  And the momentum of truth is in our direction.  A LOT Of people repudiated CNN and MSNBC to elect Trump, and to vote in an increased majority in the Senate.  And CNN and MSNBC cannot be less disingenuous without becoming openly the Weekly World News.  And Fox, Tucker Carlson particularly, continues to do outstanding work.

On that last point, is it not ODD (I’m kidding, I’m a kidder) that the media by and large defended Jim Acosta’s thuggish behavior (which beyond any possibility of dispute involved pushing that young lady’s bicep down) and have ZIP to say about Tucker Carlson being threatened by Nazis at his own house?

Where are we?  Where are we as a nation?  How are so many seemingly nice people able and eager to defend the worst impulses of the human spirit?  Do they really think they are the only ones capable of violence?

I can speak for many when I say that I feel anger, but I am absolutely, positively attached to the notion of, and long historical practice of, the peaceful resolution of difference in this nation.  Once true reciprocal violence starts, something will have been killed that is very, very important to me.  It starts a cycle that is very, very hard to end.  I really hope we don’t start down that road, but if this shit keeps happening, and if the cops continue to fail to do their job of keeping the peace, of preventing terroristic, threatening behavior, gunshots will ring out, sooner or later.

And mark my words: this Marine was a Democrat.  The one in California.  He targeted the area where he lived where he thought he could find rednecks.  He was clearly driven mad by anger fueled by PTSD, but he was rational enough to choose a target, and rational enough to drive himself there.

PARTICULARLY if I am right, the media, if it finds this out, will bury it as soon as possible, and bury it as deep as they can.  He’s dead after all, and they still have their anti-gun media initiative.

The New House

Politically, I think maybe it is best we give these corrupt fools a shot at Trump.  Mueller has found nothing in two years.  Trump has been audited every year for the past thirty or so.  And what else is there or could there be?

And while they are firing blanks, Trump can be getting indictments for top Democrats (and perhaps a few Republicans) for real crimes.

That is my hope.  I do think we needed to lose the House, because otherwise, with a do-nothing Republican majority, Democrats could and would have claimed they could do it better.  They have it now.  It’s theirs to fuck up, which may allow a mop up of honest Republican conservatives in 2020, along–I can hope, can’t I?–with an honest Speaker.

The Rule of Law

1.  I would like to see a mean son of a bitch with all of Trumps confrontational ability, and none of his charm, for the new AG.  As near as I can tell, that job does not need to be political.  It needs to be honest, thorough, and ruthless enough to go anywhere the evidence goes, draw the proper conclusions, and slap the cuffs on the right people.  I literally think a combat veteran with no children would be ideal.  Someone who hates corruption and corrupt people, and who is willing to, perhaps literally, put their life on the line, which may be what it takes to strike at the root of the rot within our system.

2. If election fraud is not a Federal crime, it should be.  And we need mandatory sentencing.  I am thinking ten years.  Getting caught needs to scare the shit out of people.

And whatever it would take to require voter ID everywhere, we need to do it.  Maybe Trump can do it by Executive Order and let the courts sort it out.

The Left really has a very poor argument on this, one which is inherently racist, and my personal feeling is that most people don’t buy it, least of all black people.

Now it’s time to go on the offensive

Fire Elmer Fudd, or perhaps more kindly, since he appears to be a doddering, fearful old man, ask him to resign (I am reminded of Lincoln’s line “if you’re not going to use the Army, perhaps I could borrow it for a while), then start doing the investigations most Americans WANT done, desperately want done, so that we can SEE there remains some hope, some integrity, some reason for trust in the future, in a world where the NSA spies on every last thing we do.

Grammar is not my thing, but I’m pretty sure that was a run-on sentence.

Prosecute Hillary.  We know the House will be on the attack relentlessly.  If Trump plays this right, the attacks on him will backfire, and the attacks he makes on the Deep State will resonate with many.

Trump may be impeached, for nothing, but if he cannot be convicted in the Senate, and with a 3 seat pickup that is inconceivable, absent major and inexcusable defections, then it doesn’t matter in the slightest.  Again, it may only serve to help him, by pointing out how desperately partisan the Democrats are.

All in all, I agree with Dennis Miller’s summation that “Paul Ryan was an ostensible friend who could only make Trump look bad, and Nancy Pelosi is an enemy who can only make Trump look good.”

And what is interesting about this, is I can state it openly.  All of us can.  We can say the strategy out loud.  Trump can tweet it.  Because these lunatics cannot but do what they do.  That is why they serve the long term cause of sanity best by being given a little bit of power.

[other than I miss Norman Lear].  This is Laurence Ferlinghettis description of his City Lights bookstore:

City Lights itself is generally in an anarchist, civil libertarian, antiauthoritarian tradition.  Martin [co-owner and founder Peter Martin] named the bookstore after the film by Charlie Chaplin, whose Little Man has always been a symbol of the subjective man against the world. In the tradition of the great literary bookstores on the East Coast and especially in Europe, City Lights began publishing its own books in 1955 and now has about 100 books in print, none federally financed by grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. (Its editors, in the Anarchist/Surrealist tradition, like it that way.)

OK, I lied.  I lie.  Never trust me with silence.  What in there REALLY could an Objectivist find objectionable?  They are doing creative work, funding it themselves, and doing so in disregard to what other people think.  They are asking for freedom from coercion, but are not asking for a helping hand or a free lunch.  They are using Capitalist principles and methods to fund culturally original work.

In the same way that the Free Speech Movement WAS a movement for freedom, for useful freedom, for good freedom, these people, in their own way, were blazing a path that could have been useful.

But what expands too quickly tends to shrink.  Emotions based on naive hope deflate when they encounter opposition, and they turn easily to rage and resentment.  In my view, rage and resentment became their politics, after a good beginning.  Rage and resentment remained their politics, ever after, such that, to express their rage, they forgot their civil libertarianism and their antiauthoritarianism, certainly under Obama, but in spirit no doubt long before.  Most of these types have long since made their peace with authoritarianism which comes with the proper name and from the proper people.  They don’t know the quality of their coffee might drop precipitously, and objecting might get them in a Laogai.

This world is endlessly fascinating.  So often people say one thing and mean something else, without even realizing it.  You have to watch carefully, very carefully.

I am going to do my best to throw myself into tomorrow, no matter what happens.  I am going to bed early tonight.  I’ll see at 5am or so what happened.  If we know.

Back then

I’m continuing to read my Beat book.  Neal Cassady had a fucking hard childhood.  If he was a narcissist, and functionally he clearly seems to have been, there was a reason.  There is hard, then there is growing up on the street with your wino dad in Denver during the Depression, with a mother who died before you could speak hard.  Given the circumstances of his early life, it seems obvious he had severe Developmental Trauma.

But I meant to post on something else.  Here is an excerpt from a Berkeley literary magazine, published around 1948:

Writers

There is a struggle going on for the minds of the American people.  Every form of expression is subject to attack of reaction.  This attack comes in the shape of silence, persecution, and censorship: three names for fear. In the face of this fear, the writer can speak.  We believe in the possibility of a culture which fights for its freedom, which protects the economic interests of its workers in all fields, including the arts, and which can create for itself new forms and new voices, against reaction, and against the threat of war.

I could go several directions with this, but the point I wanted to make is that they GOT the freedom they wanted.  It is like being a child demanding to stay out later, then you get that freedom.  And what, in turn, does that get you?  What good have these people done, really?

And I will add that “attacking reaction” is very much still with us.  I don’t know how this election will go, but this mindset of being outsiders is still very much with the political Left.  They don’t know how to govern: they just know how to oppose.  Hating Trump, as I’ve said. was their platform this cycle.  But if they could crash the economy so they could blame the Republicans then use the claim that they will grow the economy to get votes, they would.

There are people who are genuinely creative, who do truly benefit from greater freedom.  But I think attacking “convention” for the uncreative came at some point to be seen as creative in its own right.  What can I tear down today, they ask themselves.  What and who can I ruin?

I’ll leave it there.  I know I repeat myself, but this theme–which amounts to the artist as human being, as libertine, as anti-bourgeoisie–is everywhere, and is everywhere pernicious to genuine creativity, and to genuine humanity and Humanism.

Look to the middle.  Always look to the middle.  Moderation, clarity, curiosity and persistence.  If you have genius, it will be found.  And if you do not, nothing and no one will be destroyed by your reckless imitation of it.

Repeating myself

In articles like this, they are framing this article as a referendum on Trump.  This is stupid.  It is a referendum on people’s OPINIONS of Trump, which in turn is a referendum on what people think of the media in aggregate, 90-95% of which is directly, openly, and continually hostile to Trump and everything he does and says, no matter if it is true, logical, or helpful.

It is really astonishing that, given how negative the media is, that Trump continues to maintain and grow support.  As he says, the vibe I get is highly positive to Trump.  But maybe all the haters are simply hibernating and waiting their turn to do their best to shit on the best thing that has ever happened to poor Americans, at least for a long time.

We’ll see.

Feelings

I have no feelings about this election.  I got nothing last night.  My gut and brain tell me that the Democrats have nothing positive to offer, for example in the way Obama did at least the first time he ran.  There is no message.  There is no theme, other than hatred and rejection.  And those are difficult emotions around which to build a voting coalition.

Fraud of course remains a possibility.  For the life of me, I don’t get why paper ballots are not required, at least as backup, and why we don’t have a national Voter ID law.  It affects the national government, and would thus seem to be precisely the sort of thing the 14th Amendment, I think it is, would allow the Federal Government to step in and regulate.  Either way, I’m sure Trump has many eyes on all the places where fraud might be likely or suspected.  Cheating with him as President will be much different than cheating when Obama was President.

More personally, I keep dreaming about my family.  And I am coming to realize I have to leave the emotional space I occupied then.  It was a traumatized, cold space, but a known space.  To travel farther down my spiritual path, I have to leave all I have known.  It is a difficult thing.  I have not known peace and comfort, love and true ease.  My home was not a happy place.

But I have to walk out the door.  My uncle was charming, but he was a thief and a liar.  My parents welcomed me, but only as a prop, and a means by which to meet their own emotional needs.  My cousins are thieves too, and some are bullies.  Nowhere is there anything like a home.  Only a place I know.

Emotional motion is a subtle thing.  You see it in dreams.  I feel fear, even terror, walking out.  But I feel those things where I am.  There is no escape here: it can only lie there.  The only way out is out. I can only hope there is something better.  We all have to take risks in life.  Perhaps the part of life that matters most IS the part where we risk, and fail or succeed, and pick ourselves up, or celebrate.  With nothing to lose, gain feels much more empty.

Democrats agenda

This cycle, they are not even pretending to care about anything but power.  Their agenda is simple: if Trump supports it, they oppose it.  If he opposes it, they support it.

Depending on who you believe, there may or may not be a caravan of people wanting to walk into our country and presumably either go on welfare, or take jobs currently held by someone else.  If they do exist, Democrats support them, because Trump opposes them.

Given that Trump is trying to help Americans, and manifestly succeeding in many ways, this attitude is childish, self absorbed and rude.

But you can vote for it, nonetheless.
