Truth

It occurred to me today that when people embrace easy lies, the hard truths recede.  They do not stay in the same place.  They are not at the same distance.  They retreat.

And the more you embrace easy and comforting fictions, the more you develop this habit, the easier and easier it becomes.  Easy fictions become additive and addictive.  Everything will be fine.  There is nothing to worry about.  Tomorrow will inevitably be like today, but with more seasons of your favorite show.
And here is the thing: no person can get addicted to easy fictions without losing some part of themselves.  You cannot tell lies about anything for any period of time, without losing some part of yourself.
To be clear, I tell people in grocery stories sometimes I have a “medical condition”.  My medical condition is very mild asthma and a borderline panic disorder at the absurdity of the whole thing, but in truth it would not kill me to wear a mask.
But I KNOW what the truth is.  I’m not lying to myself.   It is the lies you tell yourself and BELIEVE that do the damage.
Look at Joe Biden.  We KNOW he is crooked.  We know this.  There is enough evidence at THIS MOMENT, in all likelihood, to get him arrested for what he did while Vice President.  And there is enough evidence to put Hunter in jail for pedophilia.
And anyone who wants to know this, knows this.  If they don’t want to know this, then that is the first retreat from hard truths, isn’t it, and in itself a form of self deception?
I quoted Dostoevsky the other day, saying something I have long believed myself, which is that if you cannot trust yourself to speak honestly to yourself, you partition.  Part of you separates.  And this is the part you need for authenticity.  And without authenticity there is no love and without love life is without purpose.  It FEELS like it has no purpose, even if you have a to-do list every day.  There is no touch, between you and Life, and you and other people, outside of the mundane thrills of sex and sadism.
And as Dostoevsky pointed out, without love people turn themselves over to animal passions, which themselves consist mainly in thrills of various sorts.  And the thrills usually boil down over time–for elites–to drugs of all sorts, sex, and cruelty, which are all no doubt sometimes combined.
So I say again that the claims that there are elite Satanists out there makes emotional sense to me.  The whole project is based on self deception, and anyone who learns to live in that world, and to breathe that air, is sooner or later going to become petty, angry, hateful, cruel, jealous, and lustful for power.
And look, too, at the sorts of people who become “tech giants”.  These are the opposite of people people.  Most of them spent their childhoods and youths vastly more comfortable in front of computers than people.  That did not change when they made their fortunes.  Large segments of our world are governed by whatever they are calling Asperger’s spectrum people now, who probably could and should most accurately be called clinically dissociated, which is to say emotionally apart.
We are ruled by people who look at the rest of us through frosted glass.
