QAnon

I would dearly love to believe we have “white hats” remaining in our government.  It seems to me daily that nearly everyone in that vast many trillion dollar Leviathan of a government has lost either their minds or their courage.

Our intelligence and law enforcement agencies should be protecting us, but they seem to be part of the problem.  This is the sort of problem we associate with the rest of the world, not this country.  Corruption and greed are historic norms, but not to this extent, here.

So many people are blatantly breaking major laws and not paying for it.  Hillary nearly won a Presidential election after it was revealed she committed hundreds of felonies which clearly damaged national security badly and most likely led to covert sources being caught and shot, particularly in Iran.

Joe Biden CLEARLY did what he is accused of in the Ukraine.  The sitting President was impeached for vastly smaller allegations, which were untrue, and HE DID IT.  We have the audio.  He felt no shame and no fear of repercussions.

It’s hard not to wonder if maybe this country would be in a much better place if people had just been shooting left wing professors the past thirty years, and thereby prevented them from spewing the lies which have so split this country.

But this idea makes me sick. This is not who we are.  The good people of this country–which is most of them–rightly reject violence, and privilege dialogue and compromise.  We have been patient, because it is the right thing to do.  Everyone has the right to their opinion, and the only reason left wing views have carried so far is that most of us are lazy and complacent.  They are not hard to debunk and show as the ridiculous and horrifically bloody farces they are.

But I can’t help but wonder if QAnon–with all these vague hopes that something will change, that FINALLY the good guys will do what good guys do, and deal out justice to those who have hurt people and committed crimes–could not just be one more way the intelligence services are stringing us out by providing false hopes of justice and reform that are not coming.

I hate this thought.  I really, truly hate this thought.  I don’t want to say it, but it is a perspective which could be accurate.  If nobody ever goes to jail, if our system truly is broken beyond repair, what then?  I honestly don’t know.  I really don’t.

Personally, if the government really does clamp down, it will be hard to resist.  The technologies available to the various agencies are unbelievable and we don’t even know half of them.  But real time surveillance of nearly everyone is a present reality.

Absent mass arrests, I don’t see how we don’t lapse into something like China.  That may sound stark, but that is the literal truth as I see it.
