Analogues

It occurs to me there is an analogy to be drawn between the lockdowns–with restrictions on movement and social interaction, a demand for obedience to authority, and for mask wearing–and the normal means by which the Left relates to ideological difference of any sort.  I won’t even limit it to conservatives, although that is the main target.  They will turn on Muslims at some point, but they want to destroy Christians first, if they can.

They distance themselves, do they not?  They lock down communication, and when it happens, maintain a distance.  They wear masks.  They don’t speak with personal voices, but more or less the We of the Borg.  Talking points.  Yesterdays news, blogged today.

And the latent assumption behind all censorship is that Authority is to be trusted implicitly, and that anyone who disagrees is wrong.  Why would you not remove wrong opinions from the public domain?

I was thinking about it this morning, and one of the more primal reasons I hated mask wearing from the get-go–even though I started stocking up on masks back in February–was that I could see the salacious glee with which the Left embraced it.  It was a pain they were going to be able to inflict on us.  They were going to be able to make us uncomfortable, and then get to use government to make it nearly impossible to avoid.

I felt that clearly, now that I look back on it.  Not wearing a mask felt like a way of saying FUCK YOU to people who truly deserved it.

My new stance is a bit more nuanced.  I have had some luck saying I have asthma, which is not entirely untrue, but in stores I am wearing my mask, and here is my logic: the customers can kiss my ass who care one way or the other, since they could stay home if they were that scared.  However the people who WORK there are stuck.  They can’t run.  They can’t hide.  They don’t know who has the disease, and they don’t know if masks work, but it’s all they have.  Out of courtesy to them, and only to them, I have started being a good boy, mostly.

Toxic Immaculinity

I was doing some tough work yesterday, and will be again today.  Something that makes me relate just a bit to what it must have been like to work in a coal mine, although even remotely close.

Those guys got it done, but they died in large numbers of Black Lung, and heart attacks, and a host of other things.  But they were men.  They persevered in the face of difficulty, in large measure for their families.  They were loyal, diligent and committed.

But some of them came home and beat their wives and raped their daughters.  Or sons.  Or both.  Maybe down in the mines they talked about it.  It’s not much of a stretch, especially 100 years ago.

Toxic masculinity is many things, but mainly it is the suppression of kind emotions, of softness, and an overwillingness to express aggression, anger and violence.  We all agree less violence is good.  We can all agree more emotional intelligence is better.

But flip this.  Take Nathan Lane in Birdcage.  He is very certainly not suffering from toxic Masculinity.  But he has a host of his own issues, doesn’t he?  A psychological dependence on Pirin tablets?  A tendency to become hysterical for no reason and on a dime?

In the same way you don’t kill yourself because you find evil in you, and you don’t burn down your society because it has committed crimes in the past, there is no reason to tear down or denigrate traditional values.  Masculinity at its best is generous, open, honest, brave, loyal, and reliable.

Toxic Masculinity is the Shadow of Healthy Masculinity.  It is very possible to value the latter while working on reducing and perhaps eventually largely eliminating the former.

And there is Toxic Femininity too.  Just ask any woman how nasty and evil women can be and are to each other.  This does not mean women at their best are not compassionate, warm, understanding, caring, kind, and persevering in a way most men never really understand.

Stella Immanuel

She has been censored. She is a Houston based primary care physician who, on her acvount, has treated 350 people for COVID 19, with no deaths, using HCQ, zinc, and Zithromax.

She further claims that she and her team are using HCQ as a preventative and no one has gotten sick.

THAT IS A CURE AND A VACCINE. AND IT HAS BEEN SUPPRESSED.

Think abput this time we are living through. Do you REALLY believe there are not powerful elites who want the citizens of the world to suffer for their own fun and profit?

Look for her name. I sense she will not be vanished that easily, not now.

Smell that coffee?

This pandemic–plandemic–is fake.  The disease is real, but we are being lied to, abused, and manipulated.  Trump gets it.

How this must work

We get the flu every year.  No lasting immunity can be built against it because the viruses mutate and change continually.  Vaccines, even when administered every year, only work about half the time.  A great many of the people who get the flu had flu shots.

About 20% of Americans get the flu each year.  Yet we are told that epidemics last until Herd Immunity is obtained, which is at least 60-70% of the population having the disease.  Why the difference?

Well, I think the obvious answer is that healthy immune systems are the de facto equivalent of vaccines.  I think that if you were to randomly test people on the street during flu season the way that they are testing people for COVID-19, you would find “positive” tests for antibodies in a hundred million people or more each flu season, if you could do that much testing.

Here is the thing: immunity from a given virus lasts a month or two.  This is why they are not finding antibodies in the blood of people they know have had it, when they test more than two months later.

We don’t build permanent immunity to the cold viruses.  We don’t build permanent immunity to flu viruses.  And there is now every reason to think we don’t build permanent immunity to COVID-19.  China has bequeathed a permanent gift to the world.

This means that any vaccines will last a couple months, no more, much like the flu vaccine.

Here is the second thing: given that Herd Immunity is the only way to make this thing stop–at least for that season–and given that it depends on an immunity which only lasts a couple months, the FASTER THE VIRUS TRAVELS THE BETTER, particularly if we can keep it out of the most vulnerable populations.

2020 is the first time in human history where the world has been shut down for a pandemic.  They didn’t do that even in 1918.  They certainly didn’t do that for the Hong Kong flu in the late 60’s.  Always what we have done is simply hand wash more, go out less, worry a bit more about getting the disease, which no doubt led even back then to some version of social distancing, and let the thing run.  When it was done, it left.

Here is my concern with the current response: over and above the economic and emotional damage being done, if you slow this thing down too much, you increase by a LOT the risk of people being exposed to this disease multiple times without their initial immunity.  If they are exposed once, then exposed again three months later, they are not in a better place the second time by much, if at all.

I really continue to think we need to tear the bandaid off.  Let this thing run among the Under 55.  The CDC needs to develop a list of the things that seem to improve immunity, things like Vitamins C, D, and K.  Oregano Oil maybe.  Fish oil for inflammation.  Saunas.  Sunlight.  Exercise.  Healthy weight.  Stress reduction.  Various herbs that may help.  Zinc supplementation. Fermented vegetables.

All those things help with everything, from common colds to cancer, so they are good policy anyway.  We should have been seeing that sort of thing from the get-go, since there is no downside, and every possible upside.

But I really, really think the chosen response is going to cause more death in the long run.  If saving lives is the goal, the needed policy is clear.  We need to give all businesses the choice to open up in any way they see fit.  If some stores choose to continue to require masks, that is their choice.  If businesses want to require masks, that is their choice.  But the global mandates, and in particular the mandated work stoppages, need to end.

I really think history–very near future history–will be unkind to the people pushing the harshest lockdowns.  They are far beyond unnecessary: they are counterproductive.  You get worse outcomes, while generating all sorts of collateral damage that was completely unnecessary.

BLM, another definition

A movement organized by and led by international Communists intended to prevent blacks in this country from becoming bourgeois, and independent of them and their games.

They lost the working class.  The working class became middle class.  This should be a victory, but if the goal is death and destruction, peaceful gradual improvement is a massive fail.

The logic of the Shadow

If we were to apply the approach the Left takes in this country (and most other countries to be sure) and apply it to an individual, that individual, when he or she finds out that he or she has evil in them, would kill themselves.  They would ignore the good in them, focus solely on the evil in them, and seeing it, loathe themselves beyond any possibility of redemption.

We all have unprocessed trauma, which looks like evil, which looks like darkness.  It is inchoate rage, destructiveness, cruelty, vindictiveness.  It’s in all of us, to some greater or lesser degree.  Those who say they have none, that they feel malice towards none, are either saints, liars, or most likely dissociated from the full range of their own emotions.  We hide the bad stuff, from others as well as from ourselves.
But combining the analogies, I would suggest that most Leftists are psychologically dissociated people.  They are emotionally weak and unintelligent.  That is why they are Leftists.  They seek revenge on the world in the name of the Good, the Just and the Beautiful.  They are the latest iteration of the sorts of people who used to run the Church, understood generally.  People were tortured and killed “for their own good”.
[I suppose, actually, that Communism is little but the spirit of the Inquisition brought forward by atheists in support, purportedly, of an Earthly salvation for society at large.  This makes it a worse lie, since we can see what they did.  None of us can see what happened to the members of the Church in Heaven.]
But emotionally intelligent people can see both the good and the bad at the same time, place them on a continuum, and consciously reject the bad while preserving and improving the good.  That is the process of growth.
The spirit of radicalism is the spirit of KILLING the bad, destroying it, rooting it out, humbling it, abasing it, and then murdering it.
Would you do that to yourself?  Would that be a way to deal with your own Shadow?  If you chose that path, it would be one of severe mental illness, and as I say, probably suicide.
So I would suggest that most of these people are projecting their own Shadows onto America and “Capitalism” as a whole.  Everything they hate about themselves is what they see in Corporate America, and Donald Trump, and white people.  So they attack those things as well as they can, in a spirit of self mutilation.

Herd Immunity

This is one of these terms most of us had never seen until it became relevant to our lives.  I continue to think about it.

Here is a factor to consider: what Herd Immunity looks like will vary a LOT depending on the overall health of the population.  I see all these experts say that 60-70% of people need to get the disease for it to disappear.

But what they MUST mean is they must be EXPOSED to the disease.  This is just how the math works.

Some 20% of Americans get the flu each year.  The flu comes, kills some tens of thousands of people, then disappears.  It sickens about 60 million, even though many have had the flu vaccine.

It seems reasonable to assume though that perhaps 200 million Americans are EXPOSED to the flu virus, that year’s iteration, or one of them.  They just don’t get sick.  Perhaps they develop antibodies that disappear soon enough, or perhaps the disease doesn’t even get that far.  I’m not entirely sure what specifically happens when a virus stumbles into a perfectly functioning immune system.  If two tiny, tiny little viruses happen in, and are both killed immediately, would you see that in a blood test?  I don’t think so.  I think that likely happens dozens of time a day for most of us.  We are under continual attack, but most of us are well defended.

And what happened, plausibly, with the Spanish flu is that many million of people had weakened immune systems, so that a very much larger number failed to fight it off.  It was not more deadly: the people were less well defended.

But with respect to the flu, I think this is how you get Herd Immunity with only 20% of the population.

This also means that you could get Herd Immunity with respect to COVID when only 20% of the population has tested positive.  That seems to me a tenable hypothesis, in any event.

There is a great deal the “experts” obviously don’t really understand.  Amplifying this inherent defect seems to be the added and artificial defect of a political agenda oriented around using this pretext to terrify people, in order–so it seems, since it makes no sense otherwise–to hurt President Trump’s reelection chances and to further train people in compliance with respect to overreaching and abusive government.

And I wonder, with respect to Farr’s Law, if this thing is not very much like a forest fire, where it sweeps in and kills everything weak and vulnerable, then runs out of fuel.  This means the first wave will almost always be the worst, IN A HEALTHY POPULATION.

This could easily mean that most of the dying is done, even if not all the being sick.

But however we carve this thing up, we need to reopen the country.  The kids need to go back to school.  This hunkering and bunkering needs to end.  This is no way to live, and we aren’t saving any lives, in my view.

There is an ENORMOUS–trillions, probably–amount of money to be made on a vaccine, so there is no reason at all to trust the sanguine salesmen of the miracle cure.  Around here, it is called Betting on the Come.  Smart people make plans based on what is at hand, or what is very plausibly and palpably near.

Demons

I think all demons want to cry out HELP ME, but they don’t think anything, or anyone, will.  And failing would make everything worse.  They might be mocked for feeling pain.

So they embrace their plight by doubling down, and seeking to make everyone else’s lives worse.  This is why they mock others, are driven to mock others.

It is a cursed life, made necessary by their fear that love does not exist, and that there is no remedy in the universe anywhere for their pain but the temporary pleasure they feel in causing it in others.

Whatever unions they may form are known to be temporary, and they are unified not as soul to soul, but only in outer form, under symbol and rite, under external form, since no internal form, no internal order, is present.  It is chaos and ripping only.  This is what brings about the necessity of power relations.  There is and can be no rest, no easy give and take, take and give.

I am enough of a demon to see this.  Efforts were made to destroy me, but they failed.  I did survive, however, only by hibernating in shock.  I have both angel and demon blood in me.

Let the good times roll

You know, at some point the American people are going to need to start laughing and having fun again.  Trump has a huge advantage in this regard, since he is warm and charming and funny.

Joe Biden is a guy who is always looking in both directions, waiting for cues as to the right things to say at that moment, to score political points.  There is nothing even remotely spontaneous, warm, funny, or likable–much less lovable–in him.  He is much like Hillary in this regard, and probably for the same reason: he is sick in his soul, so he HAS to lie.

But Trump will do well–after preventing cheating, which as sitting President he is much better positioned to do now, and to which he needs to deploy considerable resources–just by saying “I brought you prosperity once, and I’ll do it again.  We need to laugh again, get together again, cheer on the home team.  Our kids need to be in school.

“Joe Biden wants to surround himself with people who will tell you all the things that are wrong, all the ways you screwed up without doing anything, all the things most of you owe someone you’ve never met.  He wants to surround himself with people who get excited telling all of you NO NO NO over and over, while using the power you give them to make themselves rich.

“Not me.  I want a giant party, in a giant tent, where everyone is welcome, having fun, and where the punch bowl never runs dry.  Prosperity, justice and fairness for all.”
