Note to Republicans

Chill out. Take a breath, hold it a moment, then exhale deeply. This is the storm before the calm.  Unless I miss my mark, Trump will not be impeached, but that Barr will make his first arrest within a few months. And obviously, unless a corrupt FBI starts offering indefensible plea deals again, people will start flipping on one another. THEN this frenzy will calm down a lot.

There are quite a few guilty people out there feeling some anxiety right now, and I can’t help but wonder if Trump is going to make sure they all get grilled in public during the election season.

Here is the thing: Day 1 Trump didn’t know what to expect. He was new to this style and level of brawling. He was afraid the bastards just might get him, like they did Michael Flynn.

But he has his mojo back, his chutzpah back. He’s not affecting bravado: he has every reason to be confident. We have the “kill shot” memo from Clapper. We know James Comey leaked classified information for nakedly partisan purposes. We seem to FINALLY have a competent and honest AG.

And even if Trump IS impeached, he can conduct show trials of all his enemies, who he can directly depose, now under oath. That would almost certainly be worse for most of them than Trump not being impeached at all.

Trump is a consummate showman. He will get maximum mileage out of the trial I hope are coming.

So avoid the hyperventilating lunatics and crooks. Avoid the NEWS for a few weeks if you have to.

I honestly feel like all the pieces are in place for a good ending to at least this stage of the story.
