Violence in media

Kids who grow up playing violent video games–I would hazard a guess the average kid in CHOP has killed 100,000 people or more, virtually–grow up feeling the world is dangerous and violent.  And outside of the game, they have no power.

Likewise with violent movies and TV: the world is dangerous, and they are powerless.

It stands to reason that at some point magical thinking of some sort would grow up to counteract these (largely but not fully inaccurate) perceptions.

That magical thinking is Socialism.  These abstract ideas they have, which are highly abusive to demonstrable reality–both historical and present–act as anxiety easing incantations that calm them, and make the world seem potentially more manageable.

And self evidently, any person or process who denies them these ritual incantations gets the full brunt of the latent terror which inhabits them down to their deepest parts.

All of our problems have solutions.  But their solution requires their accurate description.  If I might use magical terminology, we must know their secret names, and their secret names are their hidden realities.
