Sitting on your hands breeds boredom, anger, agitation, anxiety, and an urge to explode. You just need a reason.
I will add that none of the “black leaders” I have seen have called for an end to the work stoppage. If they were sincere–if the well being of their communities was their primary concern–that would be the first demand.
And self evidently, given that the protests are being permitted and even tacitly encouraged by Democrats around the country, they are not worried any more about COVID-19–remember that?–any more either.
On the contrary, getting the cameras on the issue of “racism” takes it off this idiotic and catastrophic attack on the private sector which CONTINUES to this very moment in much of the country.
Where I am, we can go out to eat. I found a gym that is not enforcing the idiotic mask rule. Most local stores allow me to ignore the idiotic mask rule [it occurred to me that wearing a mask when no one else is is tantamount to saying “I’m not voting for Trump”. It is a symbolic gesture of virtue signalling and probably some small bit of real fear. What it is NOT is something grounded in science, common sense, or data.]
This whole thing is a stinking mountain of bullshit.
If America can’t figure this out, why would we DESERVE continued freedom? How fucking stupid can you get? I continue to hope that the sheer volume–noise-wise and quantity-wise–of open air, mouth dropping, drooling imbecility out there will start evolving the silent ones into Trump voters. I don’t think this is the sort of world anyone wants to live in, and it is clearly not Trump’s fault this insanity is happening. He precipitated it, but it was there in latent form the whole time, invisible to those without eyes, but very visible now.
I would even go so far as to say Trump in effect provided eyeglasses like those in “They Live” that allows all of us to see the alien creatures which have come to occupy so much of our society. They don’t share our liberal values, don’t share our regard for the rule of law, feel no compassion for anyone different from them, and reject radically and decisively the value of reason and compromise in the reconciliation of difference.
