If we can send our young men and women into battle zones, and tolerate them dying for us, then surely each and all of us can risk our lives, reputations, and treasure on protecting what they were told they were giving their lives for?
I am astonished at the cowardice I see all around me. I don’t want to suffer. I don’t even want to be inconvenienced. But we are all destined to die. It can’t be avoided.
And more importantly, we are all destined to LIVE until we die, and living on your knees is no life at all. What is beautiful in what our forebears have built and protected can be taken. NOW is the time to protect it, not least by educating ourselves, and by SPEAKING truth to violence, truth to outrage, truth to slander, truth to unbearable mendacity.
