Camus quote, last lines of The Plague

And, indeed, as he listened to the cries of joy rising from the town, Rieux remembered that such joy is always imperiled.

He knew what those jubilant crowds did not know but could have learned from books: that the plague bacillus never dies or disappears for good; that it can lie dormant for years and years in furniture and linen chests; that it bides its time in bedrooms, cellars, trunks, and bookshelves; and that perhaps the day would come when, for the bane and the enlightening of men, it would rouse up its rats again and send them forth to die in a happy city.

We were a “happy city” last February, were we not?  New businesses were opening up everywhere, unemployment was at historic lows, we were winding down our wars, and not starting any new ones.

The plague which has struck our happy city is not COVID-19.  No: it is the people responsible for turning this bad flu into a global catastrophe through the abuse and perversion of authority, speaking anti-scientific gobbledy-gook.
Again: ask yourself when was the last time you saw a public health expert recommending Vitamin D supplementation?  It is particularly important in the winter, even to prevent heart attacks.  Vitamin D deficiency makes you much more likely to die of heart disease.  This is why they are more common in the winter months, at least up north, since people get less sunshine.
When and where have they told you to take at least 25-50 mg zinc daily at the first onset of symptoms?  At least 250 mg of Vitamin C?
Eating fermented vegetables seems to help.  Where is anyone suggesting that?
Saunas, I am quite sure, help, and may be part of the reason Finland is doing so well.  Most of our saunas are shut down, are they not, despite the 200 degree temperatures making viral survival impossible?
Where are they talking about humidifiers greatly reducing the ability of viruses to hover in the air and infect people?  Arguably, humidifiers have better science behind them than masks.  Personally, if I had to choose, it would be humidifiers, hands down.
No: the rats were sent out by human vermin, disgusting human beings, diseased human beings, to infect us all, to hurt us all, to diminish and immiserate us all, and they came from the same place where all evil comes from.
