 Children who dont hear No, or do not hear it often enough, find themselves living in a world which is much too large, and much too hard to navigate, without simplistic and generally destructive heuristics. If patents do not provide boundaries—lines of demarcation—their grown children will grasp straws in the flood.

Evil is in important respects nothing more complicated than an inability to feel life within one’s self.  It is, perhaps, a striving for life by those unable to know it. We are all born with an innate urge to light, and to an internal sun. But if you do not know what the sun feels like, you will be lost for a very very long time.

 This is a great motto, but we need to remember real swamps are passive, and this one has things like COVID in its inventory.  The alligators are large, smart, mobile, and well funded, and they DO NOT LIKE THE LIGHT OF SCRUTINY.

This thing is a fight.  It will be a fight for a long time.  Trump has not even really been able to get started.  But I think he can in his second term.  That is why the Swamp will throw every dirty trick you can imagine at him–and us–and many tricks most of us cannot imagine.

 It may be too late in the planning stage, but I would LOVE for Trump to get Hydroxychloroquine to a massive audience, fill an auditorium or even stadium, and proclaim that he is going to get prophylactic doses for the whole country, so we can open everything up, and get on with our lives, and start putting the riots and criminality behind us.

This whole thing is a fucking set up.  

Have you heard a fucking thing about COVID in Africa?  Most of Latin America?  India?  

I already wrote about Switzerland, which by the way is home to some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies, including Bayer, Abbott, Hoffman-La Roche and others.  They know what the hell they are doing.

And if France banned HCQ on January 13th, they KNEW this was coming.  They fucking KNEW it. 

I am glad I believe in an afterlife, because this planet has sure gone fucking mad.  

 Fear based silence is a form of appeasement, which, as Churchill memorably quipped, is like feeding the crocodile in the hope he will eat you last.

Here is the thing: it will never be easier than now to speak up. If you dont speak up now and the authoritarians win, your chance is gone.

And they have LISTS. They know your social networks. They have behavioral algorithms to infer your views. They can probably do it by now from your grocery list.

They wont forgive you for silence. You cannot hide in a corner. They will find you. We have to win now or no victory will be possible.

There is no safety in anything but the victory of decency and Trump is our last best chance. I have high hopes for Michael Flynn too. They can only stop him for a little while longer.

 The de facto argument the Left makes is that no one has cheated YET.  This of course, like nearly all the words coming out of their collectivist mouths, is fatuous.

I actually told a bunch of Green Berets some time ago, meeting them for the first time, that “I heard you guys steal things.”  The leader said “We’ve haven’t stolen anything from YOU.  Yet.”

Here is the thing: imagine that the Stimulus checks had been sent out in bulk with no names filled out.  With blank spaces in the To section, so anyone could fill them out and cash them.

In theory, this could work.  It could be more efficient.  Everyone who needed the money would get one, cash it, and the money would be distributed.

But do you really need to have been on Planet Earth very long–more than a decade or so–to understand that many, if not most, if not all, of the checks would be cashed by people other than the intended recipient?

The goal is not to trust fraud has not occurred, or to point out that it has not been successfully caught and prosecuted in more than a few cases.  The goal is to make the system SAFE, and resistant not just to fraud, but CHARGES of fraud.  If cheating is POSSIBLE, then whichever side loses has every reason to scream FOUL.

No Conservative, I don’t think, has forgotten 2018, when four major races were decided at the last second by bags of mail in ballots found at the last minute which were mysteriously 95% votes for Democrats.  The whole thing reeked to high heaven.

When I say to you “vote early, vote often”, nobody thinks of Republicans.  We are, as one senior Democrat strategist once put it, the dumb ones.  The ones too stupid to play the system, to game the system, to win by any means possible.

I expect Trump to play New York style hard ball in this election.  That is his job.  He is the guy to do it.  He’s been seeing this shit all his life.  The same people who scream bloody murder about everything will scream about this too.  If those screams are not part of the background noise you ignore in your daily life by now, I would ask why are you are being so stupid.  None of them mean you well, if you are not one of those screaming.  And they are screaming about the risk of losing money and power.  All of them are assholes, so all of us should welcome this.

I continue to believe that if Trump does not win, then we will see shooting on our streets.  The faith in the system will be gone, and all need for restraint vanished.  Let us all devoutly hope he wins, wins big, and that he gets another four years to put us back on the path to a sustainable future of freedom and prosperity.

Then ask: if this guy was your neighbor, would you trust him to watch your kids for an afternoon?  If not, why would you trust America with him?  He needs to retire.  Let’s help him.

 Freakonomic made it clear there can be subtle and unexpected correlations.

Here are two I will suggest:

1.  Much of the difference between men and women in longevity has to do with the fact that men retain more serum iron.  When we eat red meat, it accumulates.  Too much iron causes a variety of health problems that women–who menstruate much of their lives–do not have.

I have seen few talk about this.

2. Part, at least, of the difference in overall health outcomes between white people and African Americans particularly, has to do with the greater difficulty the latter have in creating Vitamin D from sun exposure.  Vitamin D is good for nearly everything, but folks with darker skin have a harder time creating it.

This is what I read, in any event.

It’s an odd and unexpected thing, and I don’t doubt for a moment that socioeconomic status and education play roles as well.  But it’s still something I haven’t seen said.

Get woke, go broke.  Let’s make it happen.

 I heard a couple weeks ago an unconfirmed rumor that a major corporation, employing several thousand people, decided to close most of its offices in a major American city.  Eli Lilly, in Indianapolis specifically.  This may or may not be true, but this impulse seems to be generalized.  All accountants always want to cut costs, and this lockdown has amounted to a prolonged experiment in working from home.  

Talking to a guy familiar with all this yesterday, he said that many companies are finding people are more productive at home.  This means they don’t need to come into the office, which means they don’t NEED an office, which after all costs money, both in terms of monthly rent (or outright purchase), and in terms of facility staff.   Many are concluding they can abandon the real estate and save that money, and fire the Facilities staff.

Adding to this temptation is all the bullshit going on in major American cities, the boarded up buildings, the riots, the crime and violence.  Why not stay in the suburbs, where the cops will come when you call?

Arguably, this round of rioting, since it is prolonged, ideological, fascistic, and unavoidable, will be WORSE than the riots which ruined for several generations the inner cities of many American cities, like Detroit, Watts, and elsewhere.

Big companies will move out, and take with them all the associated jobs.  They won’t need janitors for example.  They won’t need security guards.  All the restaurants where all those people ate lunch will be forced to close for lack of business.  They won’t be getting hair cuts.  They won’t be stopping into the corner mart at lunch for a Coke and some aspirin.

I’ve personally known and in some cases employed inner city blacks.  A great many of them take the bus everywhere.  A great many of them work in service jobs downtown.  If those jobs disappear, then they are more fucked than they were before.  And simple extortion is a stupid way to try and fix the problem.  It won’t work.  Not in the long run.  It will prove easier for many businesses to relocate or close than to try and deal with gangsters.

The Left is more or less professionally stupid and destructive.  Solutions in nearly all cases will involve electing reasonable, solution oriented, practical Republicans.  I really think this is the case.  Less Democrats everywhere tends to equal less problems.

To be sure, not all Republicans are competent or honest.  But we are not blinded by idiotic ideas, leaving the problems to be generated by individual incompetence, corruption, and greed.
